Teachers and students can sometimes have a rough relationship due to the assigning of "the dreaded homework". However, homework can actually be a teacher's best friend! Being students, they do not realize the benefits of getting and doing their assigned homework. As teacher's, we must remember that no matter how much complaining the students might do, assigning homework is one of the best learning strategies a teacher can give the student. There are various reasons as to why this is true. The most obvious reason is that it gives the student a chance to practice, other than at school. One of the most important reasons for homework is that it gets the students thinking. Thinking outside of the classroom will get them to think in a different way that will get them to apply it to specifically their own life. This will help them in the future, and in real-life. One other major reason for homework, especially for k-12th students, is that it gives the fundamental basics of what they will learn in college.
